The mantra is to study NCERT books rather than studying those heavy weight expensive materials. NCERT is the best way to clear your base and concepts in all the three subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Once your base is clear, scoring in AIPMT is easier for anyone.
Tejaswin Jha, I Rank in AIPMT 2014
I found NCERT books to be very helpful, especially Biology and Chemistry. Most of the Biology section was from NCERT book. Around 95% Biology section in AIPMT exam come from NCERT books only.
Lovedeep Singh Dhingra, 2 Rank in AIPMT 2014
AiiMS does not declare score they only announce ranks. As for the study plan is concerned, I did not really have to work hard. There were some topics that were not covered in NEET but were included in NCERT: 50 studied that. Arnav Aggarwal, 19 Rank in AiIMS & 2nd in NEET 2013
The preparation for competitive exams has to get started right after class 10 because two years are definitely required for the preparations if you are a fresher. The main focus should be on concept clarity and developing an approach to solve questions. Do as many MCQS as possible in Physics and Chemistry because that really clarify your concepts and doubts. Be thorough with the theory in Biology. Don’t go after too many books. Make NCERT your core books and get one or two other reference books. Its the quality of study that matters and not the quantity. Physics, Chemistry and Biology NCERT should be on tips.
