NEET PG Counselling 2021 was earlier supposed to begin from October 25, 2021. It was then that Supreme Court had put a hold on it till a solution is sought to the issue. The hearing was then scheduled for November 16, 2021 but got deferred to today, due to some unavoidable reasons.

As the Centre has given its assurance to Supreme Court that it would not begin the Counselling till an approval is received from the Apex Court, many candidates have been demanding that the hearing should begin soon. They are also raising their concerns over the delay in admission process and how it is leading to a wastage of the academic year.

Previously, the matter was heard by a Bench of Justices DY Chandrachud, Vikram Nath and BV Nagarathna. The Bench had been analysing the issue from several angles, raising many questions and seeking answers from the Centre. It even asked Centre to submit a rationale, justifying the same income criteria adopted to determine the eligibility of candidates applying under EWS & OBC categories.

NEET PG Counselling 2021 matter on EWS, OBC quota is likely to be taken up by 2 pm. However, there is no definite time known as of now. As soon as the hearing commences and an order is pronounced, updates would be added here.
